I DON’T FREAKING UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE ARE MAKING A BIG FUSS OUT OF SWINE FLU.

firstly, do some research.

MORE PEOPLE DIE FROM NORMAL FLU AS COMPARED TO SWINE FLU.

does the media not have anything better to report rather than this stupid swine flu?

it is just a flu. get over it.

i don’t see people hiding around when they have normal flu, which is just as bad as swine flu.

media in malaysia has make a big deal out of this stupid thing.

please don’t msn me telling me to quarantine myself at home. preaching me about spreads, bla bla bla. it is annoying. because it is just plain dumb that you are feeding on everything the media publishes.

firstly not every country is synchronised with the technology used to detect swine flu.

BAM you have fever, they infect you with swine flu.

and then find out that you actually don’t have it.

stupid.

if only people were so united about politics in our country as they are about swine flu.

gosh!

i may be worried about getting swine flu (because i am paranoid like that), but i am SO SO SO PISSED that the m’sian media is making such a big deal about it!!! i had a fever (AND NOTHING ELSE) on the plane, and because of that, i was taken by the health authorities for nearly FIVE hours so that they could take me to the hosp for health screening… dah la they were taking their own sweet time to get me from the airport to the frikkin hosp! then when they were taking my temp, blood pressure, etc, one of the staff asked if i knew that melb has the most cases and then asked WHY i came back to kl in a very bitchy tone. GERAM SEKALI MAN.

they took a throat swab and then i could go home.. but hours later the hosp called me back asking me to back ALL the way to the hosp which is in putrajaya because they used the wrong technique to get the throat swab. how professional man. i’m still waiting for them to call back telling me if i have the flu or not.

i’m actually okay now… i mean just cos i have fever doesn’t necessarily mean i have the flu. -___-

    sorry, just wanted to rant.

heyy! i stumbled on your blog :)

yeah, i know its a hassle, trust me, im travelling back and forth from countries as well. but i guess i should attempt to clear some frustration?

i understand that alot of people might not get why everyone is making a big fuss out of this, but they have their reasons and one of it is that there is a risk of this flu mutating into a more dangerous strain, and it’ll be really bad if it happens, look at SARS for example. the thing about flu viruses is that their mutations are quick, fast and unpredictable. the fact that this strain of virus has no vaccine yet and at the moment seems highly contagious is the cause of worry. if this strain happens to meet a deadlier strain such as avian influenze, who knows what will happen.

and i get also how media can sensationalise things but it’s not meant to cause panic, more like an awareness and personal responsibility to society and ur loved ones.

so bear with it for awhile ya, no one knows whats to happen, but just in case, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

hope it helps clears things up :)
